Bridge Kids Director

Role Summary
We believe that the emerging generations are as much a part of the church as adults and therefore should be cared for, taught, and equipped to partner with Jesus in seeing His Kingdom come in The Valley as it is in Heaven.
The Bridge Kids Director is the leader overseeing our ministry to children from birth to fifth grade. He or she will work to develop an ecosystem in which children can mature into passionately engaged followers of Jesus. This will necessarily involve partnership with parents, smaller group mentoring, and larger corporate experiences of worship, community, teaching, and mission. The Bridge Kids Director is also responsible for relating effectively to and caring for parents and the Bridge Kids volunteer team in addition to the children themselves.
This role works in harmony with the Bridge Students Director as well as the broader pastoral staff and has a firm grasp on the purpose, values, and strategy of Bridge Church while carrying out its mission. The Bridge Kids Director is responsible for providing environments that are safe, centered on discipleship and that motivate children to live like Jesus.
Primary Responsibilities
Spiritual Formation and Leadership Development:
Develop an environment of holistic discipleship for children.
Plan, manage, and lead weekly gatherings where children experience God’s presence, find a community to belong to, and are offered a compelling vision for life with Jesus.
Help forge meaningful intergenerational relationships between kids and mentors.
Plan, manage, and lead Biblically sound children’s curriculum and provide classroom leadership, oversight, and management.
Regularly teach the Scriptures with conviction, compassion, care and particular attention to the questions and narratives these children are navigating.
Plan, manage, and lead children’s outings, camps, and other events.
Engage kids in countercultural mission.
Recruit, develop, inspire, and train a team of leaders who embody the vision and culture of our kid’s ministry, provide ministry support, and create scalability of the ministry.
Lead and manage the Bridge Kids volunteer team inspirationally and developmentally.
Provide spiritual leadership and genuine care to your team of leaders.
Family Support and Care:
Partner and communicate with parents/guardians/families for a holistic kids development and pastoral care.
Provide training and resources for holistic family development.
Provide pastoral care to kids and their families both directly and through the kids volunteer team, responding to urgent needs as they arise.
Operations and Infrastructure:
Develop, coordinate, and manage operational and ethical systems (ensuring safety as a priority when it comes to classrooms and special events for kids).
Create and communicate the weekly volunteer schedule for the classrooms, ensuring that all shifts are covered and when necessary, arrange for substitutes.
·Process and follow through on background checks for all Bridge Kids volunteers.
In consultation with supervisor, develop an annual budget for Bridge Kids and steward resources accordingly.
General Staff Expectations:

Respond to all staff/volunteer concerns in a timely manner.
Attend weekly Bridge Church staff meeting.
Attend the weekly gathering.
Minimum Job Qualifications and Requirements:
Living within the character qualifications of 1 Timothy 3:1-13.
Following the Bridge Church staff rhythms of Sabbath, prayer, and community.
Bachelor’s degree preferred.
Some experience successfully leading, recruiting, and developing a team of volunteers.
Enthusiasm and passion to help kids know Jesus.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
High level of emotional intelligence and ability to relate well to different populations.
Vision driven and action orientated – an inherent desire to achieve exceptional results.
Self-starter who is organized and responsible.
